About the workshops
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a more experienced miniaturist, you can always learn something new at one of my workshops. I can provide the tools, materials, expertise and location for an enjoyable hands-on experience
Create your own miniature world
Creating and painting miniatures & diorama’s are relaxing creative activities within a unique 3D-medium. The works created can serve as gaming pieces, decorative objects, educational material, or as a form of personal artistic expression. They are both challenging and rewarding, and also a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, getting started can be a daunting task for a beginner. The required tools, materials and knowledge make for quite an investment of time and money. Maybe you just want to give it a go first, or perhaps you just need to paint a single character for your D&D campaign?
The same goes for the more advanced hobbyist. Maybe you’d like to experiment with new tools and materials without buying them first, or maybe you want to learn different techniques from someone offering you personal feedback instead of from some Youtube personality?
With The Futuristic and Fantastic I want to lower the barrier of entry as much as possible, whilst raising the overall skill level and artistry to new heights. I provide the tools, materials and expertise needed to ensure you have a good time and can make something you are proud of.

Why choose The Futuristic and Fantastic?
Artistic and creative openness
It all starts with your personal interests, experiences and innate approach. I will be there to guide you along your own journey, not steer you down a prescribed path. You will be offered a wide range of techniques drawn from various art disciplines, rather than from a narrow interpretation of what miniature painting is, let alone a formula pushed by a specific company. You will be able to bring your own miniature or choose from a wide selection of figures, rather than being forced to paint the same miniature as your fellow attendees. Not only is this the most fun, it gives the best and most interesting results.
Honesty over brand loyalty
No sponsorship deals or AI-generated buzzword-laden marketing talk here. I’ve tried products from various manufacturers and if you ask what is or isn’t worth getting, you’ll get an honest appraisal.
Professional quality
These workshops are organized on an legal, professional basis. As a customer, you can be sure I take it seriously as such. As an organization, you can be be provided with an official invoice and all that it entails.
Choice of tools and materials
You will be provided a wide range of high quality tools and materials. No worn down brushes, limited paint range or bad lighting… This ensures you have the best possible experience, will be able to experiment and be able to get a taste of what miniature painting can actually be like if you have good gear.
Creative and playful network
The miniature world and the games played with them are divided in various communities. There’s the Warhammer-players, scale modelling crowd, Gunpla-enthusiasts, doll house fans, D&D’ers and what not… These exist on their own yet have a lot to learn from one another. I can help you find your way in these miniworlds and point you towards interesting events, locations and communities.
